TRACE research project

Mtech Digital Solutions' TRACE research project (Traceable and Responsible Attribute Data Creation for Food Ecosystem) investigated the creation, sharing and utilization of attribute data by the primary production in the food ecosystem.

Mtech's research project covered the analysis of development trends in regulation and standards, predicting possible future scenarios regarding the food system. At the same time, the necessary data sources and types were examined, and information architectures and information systems suitable for their processing were studied, and attribute data utilization tests were carried out.

 

Project tasks

The project investigated the creation, sharing and utilization of food system attribute information. It included:

  • analysis of development trends in regulation and standards
  • predicting future scenarios from the perspective of the food system
  • review of data sources and data types
  • studying of information architectures and systems
  • test implementations of utilizing attribute information.

 

Project objectives

The goal of the project was to have the food chain digitized effectively and in a scalable way, so that the information and data structures would offer all actors as much value as possible for business development and the utilization of attribute data.
