Projects create concrete tools for utilising data in the food chain

Food Data Finland brings concreteness to data cooperation in the food chain through jointly implemented development projects. At the same time, the program links the individual development projects of the food chain into a complementary whole.

Development projects focus on data

The development projects of the program concentrate on data. They should also support the program's goal of increasing the international competitiveness of the Finnish food chain through data based on open, interoperable and global standards. Improving the transparency of the chain, ease of data sharing and promoting data aggregation should also be taken into account.

Anyone can start a project

Any member of the network can propose a project topic and gather a project team from other companies, research institutes and organisations. If they wish, members can apply for Business Finland funding for their RDI project or activity.

On the other hand, members can join projects initiated by others if they wish to have more participants. For example, GS1 Finland, the project coordinator, is leading projects in the program that focus in particular on creating a common data infrastructure and addressing regulatory requirements.
