Data model of raw material master data
GS1 Finland is coordinating a program to build interoperable traceability in the Finnish food chain. This requires that raw materials are also reliably identified and that information about them is shared in a harmonised way. In this way, information can be passed along the chain in an interoperable way all the way from the field.
The development project Data model of raw material master data defines a common food chain approach for the identification of raw materials in selected product groups. It will also identify the mandatory and optional information relevant for the identification and, on this basis, create a data model for basic raw material information.
The operational and data models will be piloted in the systems of the companies. The results of these pilots will be used to develop an international standard, assess system development needs and develop guidelines for the implementation of the models.
Tasks and objectives
- The aim of the project is to create a common, standardised operating model for the Finnish food chain for the identification of raw materials and the management of master data in order to improve the chain's information flow and traceability.
- The output of the project will be an operational model for the identification of raw materials, a data model for basic information and the results of company-specific piloting.
